MISSION
The Kabale Shepherd Center (TKSC) exists to provide a safe and loving home environment for street children to be nurtured, educated, counseled, and reconciled (if possible) back into their families in order for them to have a redeemed past, a present hope and a better future, and to minister to the community of Kabale, Uganda in order to prevent more street children.
OBJECTIVES
- Provide a loving and safe Christian home for street children in Kabale District.
- Care for all basic physical, emotional, academic, and spiritual needs.
- Restore hope, and help each child realize their importance in society.
- Impart good behavior, discipline, and obedience through godly mentorship.
- Equip children with vocational skills and academic knowledge for the future.
- Restore relationships between street children and their parents and/or family — reconciling boys to their homes whenever possible.

Boys Enrolled
We currently have over 50 boys enrolled. Some live on-site, while others have been able to return to a family member’s home while receiving support from TKSC.

Boys Graduated
After completing their education, boys are graduated out of TKSC. According to their ability, they may finish from an apprenticeship, vocational institution, or even university.

What started as an occasional outreach ministry to street boys has become an NGO and registered children’s home.

Sponsorship
Our general operations are covered through our generous sponsors from all over the world. Sponsorship provides for school fees, medical care, food, staff salaries, and so much more. Join our family of sponsors and make a life-long impact of the life of a former street boy.
Street Outreaches
TKSC hosts monthly outreaches to boys still on the streets of Kabale. We provide a warm meal and a Gospel message each time. Some times we give out hygiene items and clothes as well. This is a powerful time to make sure they feel known and loved by TKSC and, more importantly, by God.
Education
Based on their skills and ability, we guide the boys through an education plan that will help them independent citizens of our community. Beyond primary & secondary school, some will complete a local apprenticeship, others will go to an institution, and a few will even complete university.
Spiritual Enrichment
Christianity is the foundation of TKSC, and the basis for all programs and decisions. Children attend church weekly and participate in regular Bible studies and prayer times as well.
Rehabilitation
Many of TKSC’s live on-site upon enrollment, due to the extreme circumstances in which they are found. But the ministry’s goal is to resettle as many boys as possible with their families.
Special Projects
TKSC has various special projects which are covered from donations outside of sponsorship. This includes things like working on the recreation field, providing a Christmas party and gifts, sending graduates off with an exit package, etc.
